We finally managed to bring power to the data centre floor on Friday last (16th). It is a temporary supply while we wait for the ESB to connect our MV connection but it was enough to start commissioning some of our equipment.
One of the first things we did was to try out the air handling units (CRAHs). We fired them up one-by-one and were delighted to hear the jet-like roar from the fans as they moved the air around the data centre floor. Wow they are (reassuringly) loud!
Each of the four air handling units is 120kW giving us 360kW and a redundant spare.
In the photo below you can see the control panel on one of them is live just before we turned on the fans.
