Data Centres and builders
Although our data centre is a long way from complete, we are already hosting for some early customers. We have made them completely aware from the outset that we don’t yet have the facilities or redundancy that we plan to have by the time we will complete the first phase of our data centre next year.
One thing we will have to be careful of during the construction of our data centre is that builders and data centres don’t go well together!

I couldn’t agree more when you say builders and data centres don’t mix well. Generally it’s not deliberate on the part of the contractors, just that the majority don’t how the rooms should be treated. (Given that there are only a handful of data centres in Ireland).
We do a lot of post-construction cleaning of data centres both here and in the UK and find apart from rubble, dust and rubbish things like empty drink bottles, half eaten sandwiches, cigarette butts etc.
So I would definitely recommend enforcing strict operating rules during construction and fit-out.
